La laringitis se caracteriza por una inflamación del epitelio de la laringe, dividiéndose en dos tipos de laringitis las cuales son diferenciadas por el tiempo de evolución, la aguda se caracteriza por ser autolimitada a diferencia de la crónica la misma que dura más de tres semanas y se debe a múltiples causas laríngeas y extralariangueas como el reflujo gastroesofágico, acidez estomacal o malos hábitos como el consumo de cigarrillo. A continuación, se presenta el caso de una paciente 50 años con antecedente de cáncer de tiroides Presenta desde hace tres semanas disfonía acompañado de rejuglo gastroesofágico por lo que acude a consulta y se le realiza una nasofibroscopia evidenciando eritema de cuerdas vocales e imposibilidad del cierre completo de estas. En conclusión, mediante la exhaustiva revisión bibliográfica y experiencia del médico tratante el manejo de la paciente se basa en terapias vocales. La presentación de este caso tiene como finalidad exponer los beneficios de la nasofibroscopia como método diagnóstico de laringitis crónica.
